“A 30th wedding anniversary treat – Mr McHenry was everything we hoped for and more! We happily tootled around West Sussex. The weather was not kind but Mr McH was cosy and warm. Toasted crumpets and damson jam on a wet and windy West Wittering beach will be a happy memory in days to come. He took us to places we had never been before e.g. Brighton in stately style and thanks to dual carriageways most people allowed us to travel at our own pace! Mr C thoroughly enjoyed driving him – a reminder of previous campers of days gone by.

Thank you Mr McH and all at Vanilla Splits for a lovely break.”

A message in Zebedee’s visitors book for all future hirers……

“Dearest Reader,

May I say how jealous I am that you are reading this in the back of my beloved Zebedee!

A surprise for my wonderful husband for his birthday. We took Zeb to Hurst View in the New Forest – a wonderful campsite.

The weather was record breaking for November, a warm and spring like weekend. (Roof off!)

Zebedee kept us warm, smiling and we felt completely at home! So much character!

Look after him until we meet again.

Hi all at Vanilla Splits,

We had the best time with Florence for our wedding blessing at Winchester Cathedral on the 8th October.  I think that people thought we were mad before the day, but when they saw her she stole the show – there were a lot of jealous people.  Thank you so much for being able to make our day very us and giving us the opportunity for my Dad to drive me to the Cathedral and my husband to drive me away in such a unique vehicle … which we slept in the same night!

Best wishes and I am sure we will be hiring her again.

Thank you

Emma & Ryan

Just stunning!

Hello Claire,

Again thank you so much for your help. Our wedding day was wonderful and successful. This is the most unforgettable day ever in our life.

I only got one photo from my friend’s mobile so far. But we will get more from the photographer in two weeks time. I could send you the better ones later on.

 Best regards,

 Isaac

I need cake and I need one now!!

“My girlfriend has excelled herself in the most amazing birthday present of hiring beautiful Dylan for a weekend in the New Forest. The only thing is she has succombed herself into a lifetime of nagging until we buy him. What can I say, he stands out as a majestic vehicle on the road. Purrs along beautifully and is immaculate; there is a lot of love in this van. Many many thanks.” Russell and Romi.

“J’ADORE MCLOVIN!

We had a ball in McLovin and the French adored him too with ‘toots’ galore and shouts of ‘magnifique’ aplenty.

McLovin began his trip in the massive flea markets of La Braderie in Lille, sipped champagne in the regions vineyards, marvelled at the Chateaux of Fontainbleau and Versailles, dropped into Paris for a beautiful lunch and enjoyed moules and frites in Honfleur before heading back over the water to London Town.” http://www.vanillasplits.com/html/van.php?v=7

Don’t be put off  by the weather; all of the buses have heaters and most have DVD players. What better way to spend a crisp Autumn evening than snuggled up with a glass of something warming, a favourite film and cosy bed.

Milk no sugar for me please.

Hi Claire, Florence and all at Vanilla Splits,

Just a quick e-mail to say a HUGE thank you for letting us hire the gorgeous Florence!!

We had a lovely week with her, which kicked off with our wedding day where Florence took pride of place in the main courtyard for all the guests to see (Well, we could hardly leave her standing in the carpark now could we?). Well, little did I know, Florence would completely steal the show, our guests absolutely adored her so we all gathered in front of her for the confetti shot! As the evening came to an end and the final guests left Upwaltham Barns, we said good night to Flo and went for some much needed rest in the bridal cottage!

She was there ready and waiting in the morning, ready to take us off on our ‘mini-moon’, so we loaded her up with all the vintage wedding stuff from the day before, waved goodbye to Upwaltham Barns and headed to mum and dads for some breakfast with all our friends and family. Our dog, Mylo, took a bit of a shine to Florence and climbed in amongst the suitcases as you can see!

After we’d dropped all our wedding bits off at home, it was time to head off to the New Forest. This is when Florence really came into her own. She cruised along at a very, very, leisurely pace, we immediately felt relaxed and just took it all in our stride. Waving at all other VW campers along the way was great fun, and they seemed to love Florence! We had many admirers, well, Florence had many admirers who stopped to chat….the hard part was admitting she wasn’t ours!!!

On the way home, we stayed a night at the Limeburners in Billingshurst. Once again we had a very relaxed evening, watching DVDs and drinking our wedding champagne out of ‘Mr’ & ‘Mrs’ mugs!!

I’ve attached some pictures (the two wedding ones are courtesy of our photographer, Danni Beach), and would love them to be entered into your competition if it’s still open!

We loved Florence and can’t wait to see her again!!!!

 Lots of Love,

 Gemma and Jamie
